It’s not pretty to talk about but keeping the movement going costs money. Web-hosting, venues, printed materials, even travel for volunteers – these things all need to be paid. We operate along frugal lines but still need whatever you can give to keep going.
We use the Irish payments company, Stripe, to process online donations.
Often the costs incurred by local meetings (e.g. the costs of a meeting room, etc.) are paid for by direct donations on the day.
We are very aware of respecting everybody’s individual ability to give. Normally, these costs are covered by telling the costs and passing a ‘hat’ around (modeled on a tradition of Ian Paisley). Any excess from these donations are put into the organisations bank account.
